A Letter from the "Author"

How many years have passed since King Dragon Garcis appeared in the underground region?

As I listened to the stories of brave magi and other adventurers who barely made it back home, I thought of writing about the monsters that live in the underground.

As soon as I started writing, I regretted my idea. Ith turned out to be much more difficult that I thought. The reports of dedicated wizards who have gone out to investigate these subterranean regions are voluminous. Moreover, when I added in the experiences of adventurers, I found I could collect materials about all kinds of monsters.

Unfortunately, when look through such a large number of materials, I found many contradictions and duplications, making it difficult to ensure accuracy. Since beginning my work on htis project, the light in my room has never gone out.

However, I couldn't run away from this job. I had to do whatever it took to live up to the expectations of the royal family who tolerated my selfishness.

Fortunately, we were able to enlist the help of KOW-YOK, the most famous painter in Xanadu. I think his realistic art saved my lackluster writing, turning this into a wonderful book. I hoe this book will fall into the hands of many adventurers. It must never remain unused in the royal archives or a temple.

Everything written here is true. It will be the best gift for adventurers. I also hope that the day will come when Garcis will bow to the ground as soon as possible. Only brave adventurers can make that happen.

How to Read the Monster Chart

Each monster has a table showing its characteristics.
You can understand the contents of the table if you look closely, but let me explain a few things you should be aware of.

Groups

Each monster is divided into four groups. Some parameters may change depending on the group.

Weapon Defense

Weapon defense power changes based on the direction of the attack, just like the character's. Knowing this allows you to know from which direction to attack. F means front, B menas back, and S means side.

Magic Defense

The Magic Defense table shows which magic is effective against a monster. Magic with a square around it will only do 0-29% damage, a circle means 30-79%, and no mark at all means 80-100% damage.

Defense

Defense numbers are also expressed in percentages, with F, B, and S meaning front, back, and side respectively.

Action Type

This describes what kind of behavior the monster takes on the field. Monsters that do not move will have no information in this field. The types here include moving, climbing, and even flight.
